The University of Nottingham is one of the UK's strongest research-led Universities – consistently appearing in the top ten of various 'league tables'. It is highly acknowledged for its research and teaching in a number of disciplines, two of its professors have been awarded Nobel prizes (for Economics and Medicine). Two groups will be involved in the project: Human Factors and Centre for Concurrent Enterprise.
The Human Factors Research Group (HFRG) comprises the Institute for Occupational Ergonomics (IOE) and the Virtual Reality Applications Research Team (VIRART), both of which will be involved with this project. The team has ready access to expertise across all aspects of ergonomics, psychology, engineering, computing and business for industry relevant projects. The HFRG is reputed to be a world leading group and have been partners in a number of recent or current European grants, as project, cluster or workpackage managers.
The Centre for Concurrent Enterprise (CCE) will also be involved in the project. CCE is part of Nottingham University Business School (www.nottingham.ac.uk/cce). Over the years, members of the centre have developed an international reputation in the areas of concurrent engineering, product design management, engineering management, innovation, knowledge management, supply chain management, virtual enterprising and related disciplines.
